Leg Aches – Causes And Treatment

If you would like to gain knowledge of leg aches, this is article that you are looking for.  We will try to give you everything that we can about the condition as far as the nature and treatment of the disease is concerned.  To begin, let us talk about what leg pains are and how you can get them.
Definition of Terms
Leg aches can be also known as sciatica.  It is a condition wherein the pain would start at the lower back and radiate through the lower thigh down to the legs.  Most of the time, only one side of the body can be affected by the disease, however it can be very painful for anyone who has it.
Additional Information
The pain is concentrated more toward the legs than any other part of the body.  Back pain can also be felt but leg pains are more prominent.  In addition, there are some symptoms that you need to remember when it comes to the condition.  These are as follows.

Signs and Symptoms
Here are some of the signs and symptoms that you need to remember if ever you do encounter leg aches in the future.

  • Weakness and numbness of the legs
  • Leg pain is more severe than back pain
  • The quality of pain is very sharp
  • There is also pain in the right or left buttocks
  • Pin and needle sensation in either or both of the legs
  • Pain is felt when standing up but dissipates when walking
  • One leg has more pain than the other

If you happen to experience any of the said symptoms, it is advisable for you to go to your Dr. Right away to get treatment.
Major Causes
One of the most major causes of sciatica would be nerve damage.  If the pain is prolonged and worsened over time, then it is most likely that there is already a significant amount of nerve damage.  A herniated disc can also cause the condition.
Possible Treatment Methods
There are several things that you can do to try and treat the condition effectively.  Here are some of those things as follows.

  • Sports massage
  • Exercise
  • Physical therapy

The best way to treat this condition is to have as much physical activity as you can.  By doing this, you would be able to keep your muscles toned and well trained enough to sustain your active lifestyle.  Remember that physical activity is always important in order to become a well rounded person.
If you are able to do the tests regularly, then you would not have any problems with sciatica or any other major diseases of the spine or nerves in the future.  Always remember that your well being lies in your hands.  If you want to live longer want the best quality of life that you can have, then do whatever you can to stay fit and healthy for the rest of your life.
In addition to this, you should also make sure that you eat the right kind of food to maintain a healthy body and mind as well.
