The World’s Hottest Countries

Now we all want a bit of sun for our summer holidays but are these countries too hot? I don’t know about you but you can’t beat that warm, tingly feeling you get on your skin when you are laying on the beach, just knowing that you skin is turning a lovely golden colour.

However, what about the extreme? Feeling tired from the moment you wake up in the morning, sweat dribbling down your forehead at a constant pace throughout the day, the urge to plunge into an ice bath and be in a general irritated mood – bring on the hot summer eh? Of course, in cold countries, summers are a blessing. Though there are some countries where the temperatures are high almost all throughout the year. These are said to be the hottest countries in the world. Take a look at these scorchers!

Hot

The war-torn country of Iraq faces many more problems than just war. The Middle-Eastern country faces summers that have temperatures that go over 48°C up to almost 54°C. The general temperature throughout most parts of the year also remains somewhere above 40°C. Like Iran, this country too has a mountainous northern region where it even snows in winters. But in the rest of the country, there is no respite from the hot summers. That makes Iraq one of the hottest places to live on earth, with winter days also moderately hot with the temperatures remain in the early 30s.

The World’s Hottest Countries

Hotter

Vast expanse of deserts and sprawling rich lifestyles, Saudi Arabia is a country like no other, it is not only one of the hottest but also one of the richest countries in the world! The Monarch of Saudi Arabia has seen to it that the citizens are provided comfortable facilities to beat the heat. Saudi Arabia’s hot climate is due to the hot air that comes from the desert, with a major part of the country falling under the desert zone. The average temperature in summers can go to a whopping 54°C!  The country mostly consists of the Arabian Desert, making it dry and useless for agriculture.

Hottest

Finally, we come to what we think is the world’s hottest country – Libya…did you guess it right? The temperatures in Libya are so high that the people there are known to get affected by it in the form of some skin blisters or diseases – ouch!!  The record for the highest temperature ever recorded in the world was in Libya. Back in 1922 the temperature soared to a record breaking 58°C! The country’s landscape shows a mass of desert meaning that the entire nation experiences inconsistent and sparse rainfall and extreme hot and humid all year round – there really is no respite from this constant heat!

After reading all that I bet you’re glad you’re sitting in your fully air conditioned office in rainy London after all! Perhaps we should think again when we next moan about the British ‘heat wave’!
