Free Things To Do As A Couple

Free Things To Do As A Couple

When you’re in a relationship, it can be both a great way to save money and a thing which ends up costing you a lot too. Cohabiting is a great way to save on rent and utility costs and to share the price of food and drink, but it also means that you’ll be doing more things as a couple – you may go to events and days out that you perhaps wouldn’t have done as a single person, and dates can all add up. If you’re facing debt as a couple or if you both need to curb your spending for a while, then you may be wondering what on earth you can do together rather than go out for dinner or go for a trip to the cinema. Life can seem very boring when you take away all the things which cost money, but dates don’t have to be put on hold just because you can’t spend – there are plenty of things that you can do together for free.

Go for a Walk

Even if you’ve lived in the same place for years, there will probably be areas where you haven’t walked before. You can discover many things whilst out for a stroll, so wrap up, get some shoes on and just walk. Take it in turns to choose the direction you want to go in each time you come to a decision making point and you could discover something new. It’ll keep you both fit, too.

Go through Old Memories

Even if you’ve seen them all before, have a look through old photographs together and talk about the experiences you’ve had before you met. This can create some funny moments and you may find that you have certain things in common, like where you went on holiday as a kid or what your favourite cartoon was. Even looking back through photos of your time together can be great fun.

Look up your Ancestors

Many websites that hold past records and allow you to build your family tree have a free 30 day trial period, so you can have some fun looking for your ancestors together for free as long as you cancel before the 30 days are up. You may find some interesting things and it could be a real eye opener for you both.

Tell each other about your Jobs, Pets, Childhood Friends etc.

Have an evening in where you take it in turns to tell each other about all the jobs you ever had, or the pets, or childhood friends…the list of subjects is endless. Take it in turns to talk about each thing and you could learn more about each other than you may think.

Read each other your Favourite Childhood Books

It’s likely that you’ve both got books and stories from your childhood that you absolutely loved. Go together to find them at your local library or see if you still have them stored away. You may find that you share some favourites.
