5 Things To Consider When Choosing A Wordpress Theme

WordPress is an amazing content management platform. Content management basically means that content – pictures, text, audio, and video – are grouped in an organized way. What WordPress does is it categorizes everything on a PHP script, so that you don’t have to worry about organizing all that information yourself. The best part is that you don’t need to be a genius coder or designer to build your website with WordPress. All you really need is a strong theme or template. A WordPress theme is simply the look and feel of your website. If you have a restaurant or an online store, you want to search for WordPress hosting themes and find one that matches the aesthetic of your business. However, there are a number of things you should think about before you look for a theme. Here are five things to consider when choosing a WordPress theme.

5 Things To Consider When Choosing A WordPress Theme

1. Make sure your theme is capable of performing all the functions that you need it to. Before you even start searching for themes, you need to make a list of all the things you want your website to do. Do you plan to have an online store and need a shopping cart tool? Do you plan to start a blog? Do want to include some kind of online forum? Whatever it is you want to do, you need to make sure you include it all in a list, and then search for themes that can accommodate your needs.

2. Make sure your theme is compatible with any plugins that you need to install. You want to make sure that your theme is compatible with any plugins that you will need to install. If you have a very rare and specific type of plugin, that will really limit the number of WordPress hosting themes that you have to choose from.

3. Make sure your theme is customizable. When you are building your website, you want the entire thing to be completely streamlined in accordance with your branding. This means that the colors, fonts, and graphics that you use within your business need to be incorporated into your website. If your theme is not customizable, then it won’t look like it is in line with your branding and won’t look professional.

4. Make sure you are downloading your theme from a trustworthy site. There are a lot of websites which sell or offer free downloads of WordPress compatible themes. Unfortunately, a lot of these sites are untrustworthy and will only plant viruses and malware on your computer and/or your website. That’s why you always want to be sure that you are downloading your theme from a trustworthy and reputable software company.

5. Make sure your theme is highly intuitive. No matter what you decide to do with your website, you want to be sure that it is completely intuitive. Browsing through your site should be fun and easy, and everything should be organized in a way that feels clean and effortless.
