Tips for Writing Compelling Facebook Ads

Social media was once just a way to stay connected with people. However, today, it is one of the most powerful mediums of communication as well as promoting and doing business. And needless to say, out of all social media platforms, Facebook is by far the most popular one.

However, marketing your product on Facebook isn’t easy at all. You need to use the right mix of strategies and techniques to create effective advertising campaigns (just like on other digital marketing platforms such as Click2sell.co, Taboola, etc.) that will reach high-volumes of targeted traffic.

To help you do that, here are a few valuable tips on how to write a compelling Facebook ad:

Decide on Your Goal

Before you even create your Facebook ad, you need to decide precisely what your goal is. At the end of the day, all ads fall into one of two categories – gaining your target audience’s attention, to increase business or brand awareness, or leading them towards a direct specific action, such as generating fresh leads, getting your customers to download an app, or even increasing sales. At any given time, you must decide which one is more relevant to you before you start your paid campaign.

Target Your Audience

Next, you need to target that segment of your audience that will probably respond best to your end goal. Facebook has the best advertisement targeting of any social media platform today. To be effective, you must be very specific about which part of your audience you want to target – it’s called funnel focus.

You can create your own custom audience, or select them by geographical location, gender, interests, behaviors, and even connections – just to name a few. In fact, Facebook has such a vast list of options that you can narrow your focus to very few people if you want to!

Create a Range of Facebook Ads

This is an extension of the idea of targeting a specific segment of your audience. So, if you are a retailer or merchant with a range of products to offer, do not make a generic ad for everyone in your target audience. So, if for example, you have a sportswear line, target those people who have listed fitness and sports as an interest.

Create the Perfect Mix of Copy and Image

On Facebook, you need to use an eye-catching image that tells your audience exactly what your product is. To go along with that image, you have to create a copy that gets the message across in just a few words. You literally have only a few seconds to catch the user’s attention.

Use a Single Call-To-Action (CTA)

You have to ensure that the copy only has one CTA – one goal. For example, your ad could have a CTA as simple as a button that states either “SHOP NOW” or “LEARN MORE,” telling your prospective customer precisely what he or she should do.

Test the Ad Copy

Facebook – for a small sum – will allow you to test your ads and see which one your audience likes best (i.e., converts well). Therefore, before you post your ad, you can check which one works best, and invest more money on it instead of wasting on others.
