Lighten Up Your Space With A Personalised Frame

Whether you are trying to liven up your space at home or at the office, there is one aspect you focus on: Personalisation. This involves our desire to make our surroundings as homely as possible mainly because it helps us feel comforted and at ease. Living or working in an environment where we do not feel relaxed is not likely to get the best out of us. There are many different ways in which we do this; from furniture to music, colour and even potted plants. Each result is subjective to one’s own personal preferences which is what makes it so unique. Additionally it is also common to put up posters of your favourite bands or artists, paintings and of course photographs of loved ones. Some choose to put them up as they are whilst others would like it to look more polished. Which is where personalised framing comes into… well, the picture.

Materials

Aside from the type of materials to choose from, what you really need to focus on is the quality of said materials. Typically, wooden framing is the most popular choice. As you can imagine, there is an endless selection of wood types to choose from which will definitely send your brain into overdrive if you are not sure of what you are looking for. It would help for you to do a bit of research on the type of wood that would not only suit your requirements but also works within your budget. The rest is upto your artistic sense. Depending on what you are getting framed, the type of framing would differ. If it is an art piece for instance, then you need to look for something that would complement the colours as well to make it ‘pop’. There is also such a thing as original wood and fake wood of which the latter is cheaper, but the decision is really upto you.

The Space

Well, at least the space where you are going to display this piece that is. How your surroundings look is a reflection of how you have set it up. If you have limited room in your house for instance, cramming in bulky furniture is not going to help. Neither will thick-framed paintings. What you are looking for are lithe, slender pieces that add character without drowning you. On the other hand if you have plenty of room to spare you can stretch your imagination and be liberal with the size of your custom frames. It all really depends on the space you are working with. Keep in mind you want to accentuate not clutter.

Design

Once again, this is a matter of personal preference, but you do have to pay attention to the design of the frame you want. Mouldings come in a dizzying array of choices and it can be tough to make a call especially when there is someone breathing down your neck waiting for you to make a selection. Obviously the more intricate the design, the more expensive it is so make sure you ask the store how much each piece is. Opt for designs that complement what you are trying to frame. The right materials and design, together have the power to really uplift the end result.

It would be a good idea to let the store know what sort of budget you are working with. This way, they will only suggest and show you items that are within this limit and you will not be swayed by other options. You can also save a lot of time by only focusing on what is necessary. Do some research on framers so you get an idea of what you are looking for.
