Know The Difference Between Outdoor and Indoor Banners

Indoor and outdoor banners are the same in various ways, although they also have a few differences. Indoor banners, as the term suggests, are banners used for indoor events, trade shows and exhibitions. Outdoor banners, as you may already know, are those that are used for outdoor settings. For both types of banners, there are elements that must be considered.

banner

One is the font style and font size. It should be readable even from afar so that even those who cannot get to your booth or space will still know about your brand or get your contact information. The colours used are also important. They should be eye catching, but still clean and organised, or something to perfectly represent your brand. Think through the information you’ll add on the banner. It must be short but catchy and something that people will easily remember.

Indoor Banners

Indoor banners range in sizes, although the biggest of the standard size is not as huge as the largest standard outdoor banners. This is because space is usually limited for indoor use. Since wind, sun and rain is not a concern, you can go with just about any material. From vinyl to fabric, your choice is unlimited. Plus, setup is also easier since you may hang them or go for roll up banners, without having to worry that they will be blown by strong winds. Since they are easy to setup, they are also quicker to disassemble and carry around.

Outdoor Banners

Outdoor banners also come in various sizes, although the standard sizes are commonly bigger than indoor banners. This is because space is usually bigger for outside events, exhibits and trade shows. While they can also come in various banner types, like banner stands, wall and hanging, they must be setup more securely to ensure that they will stay in place even with strong winds. Some of the ways to make banner installation more secure is by using nylon stripping or pole pockets.

While light and dark text colours work well on indoor banners as lighting is controlled, this is not the case with outdoor banners. It’s best to go for darker text colours to make it readable. Light texts are difficult to read when the sun is too bright. The type of material must also be considered as you can expect the banners to be exposed to changing weather. Fabric is not a practical option for outdoor banners since it absorbs water. Go for banners with laminated vinyl or PVC as they offer more protection from sun and rain. If you’re on a tight budget, you can still find a cheap banner that’s good quality.

Aside from exhibits and trade shows, these banners are also used as advertisements or displays inside and outside stores or office buildings.
