BT Takeovers EE to Maintain the Biggest Share in the Mobile Marke

A business merger impacts the level of customer service offered by the companies that are involved in the process. It can benefit the customers by delivering excellence in services and can also disappoint them with poor customer handling.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has finally approved another merger in the UK. The BT has taken over UK’s largest mobile operator company EE. This approval came after an extensive and elongated six-month investigation conducted by the CMA. BT’s £12.5bn takeover of mobile phone firm EE has not scrapped the existence of the mobile brand EE, thus ensuring a continued excellent EE customer service. The merger has brought 35 million customers of fixed broadband, TV and direct mobile subscribers under the same fold.

With the new company structure including six business lines namely Consumer, EE, Business and Public Sector, Global Services, Wholesale and Ventures, and Openreach, the new merger is not going to impact the jobs in the company although will enable the company to start amajor new division that will focus on businesses and the public sector in the UK and Ireland.

Gavin Patterson, Group Chief Executive has expressed his happiness after completely acquiring EE. He said that the company will continue to invest and innovate in the sector so as to benefit its shareholders, customers and UK plc. Combining the power of fibre broadband with the convenience of mobile will also benefit the customers.

Customers are the biggest winners of this merger of the two big brands as it offersthem a bundle of joy in the form of services.Ensuring a flawless service to its clients, the company plans to give its customers a multi-brand strategy that gives them a freedom to choose and opt for the services that are a mix of theservices offered by BT, EE or Plusnet.

The merger will also facilitate the business expansion of the company as it plans to serve its services to the multinational companies and major overseas customers via their Global Services division. It will also help the company to keep its focus on its new structure as well as its key strengths.
