What immediately comes to mind when you think of the island of Bali? I imagine most people will think of blue seas, white sandy beaches and Hindu Temples; an area full of history and an array of culture to enjoy but to outline why it’s such a popular resort, we’ve teamed up with Banyan Tree, who’s hotels can be seen here.
Bali is a small island in Indonesia, 3.2 km east of Java and not far from the Equator; voted by The International Travel Magazine as being the best holiday island for a number of years. It has a central mountainous area with many high peaks, one of them being an active volcano. This picturesque island is surrounded by coral reefs, popular with tourists for obvious reasons and the white sandy beaches that many people think of are located to the south of the island. As an up and coming tourist resort, many of the black sandy beaches to the north and west, which are areas where dolphins, turtles and other exotic marine life can be spotted are now being developed to attract more visitors.
It’s an area of diverse and sophisticated culture and performing arts; perfect as a tourist destination with many of the performances taking place at hundreds of temple festivals and public performances around the island.
As the tourist industry has grown then the need for high class accommodation has also increased, leading to the availability of luxury villas and breathtaking settings to choose from. Many will come with their own private swimming pools and spa treatments that tourists enjoy these days as well as spectacular views over the Indian Ocean.
Bali has a tropical monsoon climate with year round sunshine but pleasant day temperatures of between 20 – 33 degrees and unless you visit during the monsoon season of October – March, you are going to experience some very pleasant weather to enhance your stay.
