Summer Hairstyles We Love

Tips To Restore Damaged Hair

With summer FINALLY here, we can start planning all those summer outfits, accessories and hairstyles we’ve been thinking about since January. We’ve ditched the scarves, jumpers and beanies in favour of denim shorts, floaty tops and floral crowns. With a change in season, comes the urge to switch up your look, especially your hairstyle whether that be a drastic cut or new way to style your locks – we’ve rounded up our favourite summer hairstyles!

Summer Hairstyles We Love

1. The Lob

Vicky B gave us the Pob but in 2015 it’s all about the Lob. Confused? Well, the Lob is basically a longer style of a Bob. A style that’s sure to stick around due to its low maintenance and fashionably chic look. Celebrities seen sporting this style of hair include Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence. Style the Lob with some salt spray to achieve beachy style waves and an effortless look.

2. The Bandana

No we aren’t talking about those full on bandanas we sported in the 90s as kids. These new style of bandana hairbands are the perfect festival or beach accessory. Also great if you want to squeeze another day out of your hair before washing (we didn’t say that). Team with a pair of retro glasses to top off the look.

3. Loose Braids

A loose braid screams summertime. The perfect hairstyle for holidays, a braid looks effortless and stylish. Mix it up and opt for a side braid for an alternate take on this classic hairstyle. Team with your favourite pair of sunglasses and you’re good to go.

4. Crown Braids

Heading to a wedding this summer? The crown braid is perfect for events, and relatively easy to put together, it just takes a little bit of practice! You’ll be a Grecian like goddess in no time.

5. Half Up Half Down

Take a leaf from Ariana Grande’s book and try out the half up half down ponytail. It’s A) convenient for keeping flyaway hairs out of your face and B) super cute. For evening time, try styling your hair with a curling tong for a loose wavy look and a spritz of hairspray to keep its hold.

6. Pastel Hair

A fun style to try especially for festivals is a pastel hair colour. If you’re not ready to commit to a permanent hair dye, then try out some pastel chalks to give your hair a summertime edge. We love the pastel lilac look!

7. The Top Knot

We assume we aren’t alone when we say that 90% of the time our hair is slung up in a casual top knot. Simple but effective, a particularly good style for around the pool – just grab your sun tan lotion, fashion reading glasses, an interesting book and you’re good to go.

8. The Fishtail

It takes a bit of skill and dedication but the fishtail is another style of braid that works for all occasions. An especially good hair style for girls with longer-length locks!

9. Beach Waves

If you’re hair isn’t naturally wavy but you want to achieve that ‘just been for a swim in the ocean’ look then we have a few tricks up our sleeve. Try out a scrunching gel to use on your hair when damp, follow this buy using a salt spray and then a tiny amount of normal hairspray to keep your tousled waves in place – et voila.

10. Twisted Ponytail

Add a unique twist (no pun intended) to your ponytail by adding a braid both sides of your head and bringing into a ponytail. A quick and easy summertime hair fix!
