No Fun For Brits – The Decline Of British Porn

Each year there is an annual European summit regarding the adult industry. This summit spends a lot of time on trying to determine how the entrepreneurs are to monetize the adult industry.

Over the last seven years that has been a marked decrease in the adult industry. The industry is beginning to notice that sex doesn’t sell and it is creating the decline of British porn.  Two of those reasons for the industries have declined are distribution and regulations.

Distribution

There are several ways for porn websites to profit from distribution, or at least that is what so many believe when they begin in this industry. The idea of offering premium content to some, while free to others, is one way that some establishments are able to earn a profit. However, this is starting to become more complicated that it has in the past.

Learning how to generate income when porn is widely distributed online for free, is the goal of many industrialists of the business. However, with so much of the industry offered for free it is becoming harder to continue profiting.

Regulations

Regulations that govern the adult content, especially the age verification requirements are helping to reduce the monetary value of the services offered.  During the summit many of the delegates were worried about finding a way to respond to all the regulations.

One of the regulations requires that anyone interested in adult content undergo age verification. Child protection is very important to the European adult industry.  Many individuals who work in the adult industry spend their free time helping to protect the youth to keep them separate from the porn industry.

Some believe that it is wrong to portray adults as teens for the pleasure of others. However, many companies also know the without the right image sex doesn’t sell and has sped up the decline of British porn. The idea that the adult content industry is regulated in so many ways causes many to be confused. They are regulated by different people and with different stands depending on the media (television, online, movie, print).

The annual European trade summit ended with no positive results. As well as, no new ideas on how to make the industry better for all concerned.
