Is A Lack Of Mobility What's Holding You Back?

For many small business owners, connecting with current and potential customers is the lifeblood of whether they succeed or not.

That being the case, some who own businesses still seem a little unclear as to the importance of mobile technology in the business world.

They may see various people (especially younger individuals) with their smartphones and other gadgets, figuring they are just for playing around and entertainment purposes. Truth be told, that is far from the truth. Even younger people can be potential clients to many who own businesses, so by all means take their love of mobile technology seriously.

No matter what products and/or services your small business may consist of, being dialed into mobile technology should never be taken for granted.

Is A Lack Of Mobility What's Holding You Back?

Shoppers Are On the Go

For starters, more and more shoppers are taking their shopping habits on the go with them.

Whether they are simple grocery store shoppers, out buying DVD players or tablets,  considering new automobiles or looking around for that perfect vacation getaway, many of today’s shoppers want information at the touch of their hands.

With that in mind, the smart small business owner not only makes available simple information like the price of each product or service, but also other key data where applicable, including warranties, the price competitors charge for the same goods and services, and sale details.

The list of products and services that the small business owner can promote seems infinite. From Android tablets offering the latest viewing and content experiences to audio products offering 11.1 surround sound technology, business owners can take mobility to new heights.

For the small business owner who is not in tune with the desires of many shoppers, take note that a sizable number of them list mobility at the top of their wish list.

Mobile Retail Sales Booming

According to a Forrester Research report, come the end of 2017, mobile retail sales nationwide are predicted to hit some $31 billion, an increase of approximately $23 billion from 2013. Meantime, tablets alone are forecast to be accessible to one-third of Americans come 2015, an annual growth rate of more than 50 percent.

Of course having mobile technology capabilities is pretty much worthless if you’re not out there promoting it.

So, how can you go about letting the world know that you are a small business owner who gets mobile technology?

First and foremost, let shoppers know via social media.

By using your Facebook page, Twitter site, Google+ location and other such social networking venues, you can spread the word like wildfire.

One of the many advantages to using social media to promote your mobile offerings is that you can hit up both current and potential customers 24/7, though do not go into overload mode whereby you end up coming across as a spammer to many. If you do that, potential sales could very well be lost.

At the end of the day, just how mobile your small business is can be the difference between average sales numbers and fantastic sales numbers.

Quite simply, wouldn’t you rather have your sales figures fall into the latter category?

With a little more mobility, you can very likely do just that.
