These are famous sightseeing attractions of Orchha that are located on the banks of River Betwa. Chattris are tombs of Maharajas that have been built on elevated platforms supported by pillars.

  • Jahangir Mahal:

It is also called as Rani Mahal is located in the fort complex of Tikamgarh District in Orchha. It is popular for its architecture and paintings. It was constructed in the 17th century.

  • Raj Mahal:

It is also known as Raja Mahal which was residing place of former kings of Orchha. It is located in the Tikamgarh District of Orchha. It was built by Madhukar Shah in the 17th century.

  • Rai Parveen Mahal:

This Mahal is dedicated to a poetess and dancer whose name was Rai Parveen. She was called to Delhi by Emperor Akbar. The Mahal is two storied building which was constructed in the mid-1670s by Indramani.

  • Chaturbhuj Temple:

It was built by the famous Bundela Rajput kings. The 17th-century architecture of the temple is exquisite. On seeing the exteriors of the temple architectural minds of people are inspired. It is said the site was chosen by the king to see Lord Krishna from the balcony. The top floor of the temple offers an amazing overlook on the landscape there.

  • Ram Raja Temple:

It is the popular temple of Orchha. Here Lord Rama is worshipped as a king. It is said or is a legend that it was the palace of the king Madhukar Shah then it was changed into the temple when Lord Rama appeared in the dream of Madhukar Shah.

  • Sunder Mahal:

This is another famous Mahal. It is an architectural marvel in Orchha. Ancient grandeur and religious fervor are depicted in the palace. This palace is dedicated to the love story of prince Dhurbhajan and his Muslim lover.

  • Phool Bagh:

It is a laid garden of Orchha. It gives testimony to the highly sophisticated aesthetic sense of the Bundelas. They ruled this small place. The garden was summer retreat of the kings.

  • Lakshmi Narayan Temple:

It is a huge temple that is located in Orchha. In 1622, it was built by Vir Singh Deo. It displays a unique mixture of fort and temple. It was repaired by Prithvi Singh in 1793. It is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi.
