The Company AMD celebrated 30 years of great service to customers on Saturday; the occasion was with a live webcast and announced a brand new graphic cardR9 285.

As per the reports from the Digital Trends, the new Radeon R9 285 is the mid-range graphics card that will have the capability to play all the recent HD games with all great features supported in it. The R9 285 will succeed Radeon’s R9 280 card. Well, comparing the earlier one, the power usage of the new card is to be 250 watts – 60 watts, which is higher than the R9 280 and all of the other cards in the R9 line. The Card will boast 3.29 teraFLOPS and need a 2GB computing memory to keep it performing very Quick and easy.

Building versions of the R9 285, several 3rdparties manufacturing the latest technology with supported of 4 GB RAM in it to run.

It is not that R9 285 has completely changed has changed, But, the Specifications and significant improvements are more comparing with the earlier the R9 280. The new R9 285 card will boast all same ports as its predecessor, making it easier and compatible to use with Display post, HDMI port, also DVI ports are included in it directly.

AMD is comparing it specification with NVIDIA GeForce GTX760, it shows the perfect competition with each other, and here both the AMD and NVIDIA show the same 2GB memory in it, and it also announced that the 4GB compatible version will come soon. According to R9 280 the latest R9 285 costs more up to $249 and 4GB version cost would be unexpectedly high or little more than R9 285.

The new card boasts up to 1792 stream processors which are same in the current Radeon R9 280 too.

Comparing with the performing speed with R9 280 and R9 285, the R9 285’s, 1375 MHz actual 5.5 GHz with effective memory speed is faster than the 280’s 1250 MHz/5.0 GHz is effective memory speed. So there is slight between two of them.

One month late AMD will officially bring the latest Tonga XT variant, which will boast 2048 Stream Cores and the next AMD would be R9 285X, but the exact specification is not yet revealed. But it would the more efficient working and range in price too.
